Okay, don’t know where to start but I’ll try my best to articulate my thoughts sha. The last time I wrote on my birthday was two years ago and that actually spurred me to start writing, as I got positive feedback from people about my writing skills.
I’m twenty-two now, which means I’ve spent more time on this earth and I have less time left. I try to keep this in the back of my head, although people frown about talking about death and all, when I leave, I am sure I really won’t have any regrets. This doesn’t mean that I don’t want a long life sha, just saying it as it could literally happen at any time. I guess this is one of the underlying reasons why I try to make memories with the people I know and spend quality time with them.
Enough of the dead talk sha, now to sprinkle some positive vibes. I am one who is usually not hyped about celebrations personally but I also know because I think something should be a certain way doesn’t mean it should be las las. So this year, under the disguise of it’s my birthday week, I did some spoiling myself 😉 and now I’m broke, “life tuff”. Looking back at my journey in this life, I am quite impressed by my growth.
Oh I forgot to mention, I’m writing this while listening to Klĭtôrĭs by Brymo, in his discography I feel Oṣó and Yellow get talked about often and Klĭtôrĭs is left out. However I personally see Oṣó as my all-time favourite Brymo’s album, you should check it out if you haven’t listened to him before.
Me being older also means me drawing closer to settling down *sighs*. I have no qualms with marriage oh, in fact, I see it as a beautiful thing, having companionship, someone who cares for you and all even in your old age. I am just indifferent about it, that’s the thing. That aside, this also means my normal “I am not thinking of marriage in the next 4,5 years” will have to change to “I am not thinking of marriage in the next 3,4 years.” Why so? If I ever take the bold step, I want it to be at an early age, want to be able to watch anime with my kids, school them on COD etc.
Remember the clown that said he would be down with his chapters 3 and 4 during the holidays earlier? Well, the clown didn’t finish as expected but I summoned the mental courage to finally continue yesterday. The major reason I did was that I am actually tired of school and I just want to finish as soon as I can. It’s already been 5 years and it has been one of the most memorable ones so far but I am ready for more adventure. I want to see the world, literally and the fact that I still have lectures someday still haunts me. Considering how I would have been in Lisbon (expense paid and all) last month but didn’t process the opportunity because I thought I would be writing my finals by then and didn’t want to miss it but then ASUU said “Hello”.
Definitely, it’s going to be a mixed feelings moment, considering how many people I’ve come across on campus spanning tech, fellowship, department, anime etc. Oh I’m trying this startup thing too, always wanted to answer a “co-founder” but omo, e no easy actually. Na just name, responsibilities and vibes. Anyways you can check out Munche, let’s see how this adventure turns out. I’m not one to shy away from a challenge normal normal.
I’m spending this birthday in my family house at Rivers state, so that means it’s a full house event. They’ve already threatened to pour me water yesterday, my mum who is on leave inclusive. I’ve accepted to be drenched, a whole golden boy. Someone said to me today, “keep changing lives” and I reflected on moments I’ve heard people say I motivate them and all. I’m glad I am able to inspire you, always feel free to reach out to me if you need advice, someone to talk to aka unlicensed therapy, assistance etc. I’ll try my best to do what I can do.
